EDWARD LAMSON HENRY (1841-1919) GENRE LANDSCAPE: Oil on canvas. Edward Henry became a noted painted of minutely detailed super-realistic genre scenes of early 19th century rural America. Very detailed landscape with horse-drawn carriage with family. Figures and dog on the sides of the road, house and mountain in the background. Image 10 1/4 inches x 16 1/4 inches, Signed lower left E.L. Henry. Wide ornate gilt frame.

DAVID JOHNSON (1827-1908) LAKE LANDSCAPE: Oil on board. David Johnson was a landscape painter based in New York City and associated with the second generation of Hudson River School painters. He is noted for his ability to delineate accurately rock formations and foliage. Very detailed lake coast landscape. Small shed at base of hillside along the coast, a row boat along the shore. Monogrammed signature and date '76 lower right. Signed and titled on back "Sketch at Redwood, Jefferson County, N Y, david Johnson 1876" Image 6 1/2 inches x 9 1/2 inches. Ornate wide gilt frame (minor loss). Overall 18 inches x 21 inches.

ABBIE L. ZUILL (1856-1921) STILL LIFE CRYSTAL BOWL OF CHERRIES: Oil on canvas. Abbie Zuill One of the still life specialists of the Fall River School (Massachusetts), Abbie L. Zuill was the most faithful to her teacher Robert Spear Dunning.  After Dunning's death, she was called in to complete many of his unfinished works. Very detailed painting of crystal bowl overflowing with ripe cherries. Signed on back of canvas " E. Zuill 1892". Image 8 inches x 10 inches, Re-lined. Ornate gilt frame. Overall 14 1/2 inhes x 16 1/2 inches.

WALTER BAKER CHOCOLATE CO. ADVERTISING TIN SIGN: Ca 1900 Chromolithograph on tin. Image of young woman serving a tray  with hot chocolate, A Registered Trademark. Image is after a painting by French artist Jean-Etienne Liotard painted in 1745.  The owner of the Walter Baker Co. he owner of the Walter Baker Co (Henry Pierce) was so taken by the painting and in 1862 that he obtained a copyright to use the image for his chocolate company in Dorchester Mass. Original brass plaque "La Belle Chocolatiere, Walter Baker & Co. Limited. Image 23 inches x 17 inches, gilt frame. Good condition. some loss to frame.

JOSE FORMOSO REYES NANTUCKET FRIENDSHIP BASKET: Marked and dated on bottom. "Made in Nantucket 1973 Jose Formoso Reyes" with Nantucket map. Oval shape with carved whale and carved accents. Label inside Dorothea #43. Overall 7 1/4 inches tall x 9 inches wide x 6 1/2 inches deep.

19TH C BRITISH ARTIST OIL PAINTING OF CALCUTTA: Ca 19th century. A view of Calcutta. During the 18th and 19th century during the rule of the British in India though East India Company many British artists like William Hodges, Daniells and many more visited India. Painted what they saw and brought India to audiences in Britain. The influence of their work was extensive and continued until 19th century. Image 24 inches x 30 inches. Overall 34 inches x 26 inches. Oil on canvas. Removed from stretcher.

ELMER ROMANZO ELMER (MA 1850-1923): Pastel on paper "Ashfield Pond" 1906. An artist who spent his entire life in Ashfield, Massachusetts, Edwin Elmer was a portrait, genre and still life painter who was also a highly creative inventor of machines that made whip-snaps for shingling horses, for shingling houses. River landscape, signed lower right e.R. Elmer 1906. Image 9 7/8 inches x 16 3/4 inches. Matted and framed under glass, gilt frame. Overall 15 1/2 inches x 20 1/2 inches.

LOUIS K. HARLOW PASTEL PAINTING: "Commonwealth Avenue". Louis Harlow (MA 1850-1913). Louis Kinney Harlow, painter and etcher, is known for New England landscapes, fishermen, farms, boats, and coastal scenes. This winter scene pastel painting depicts figures in horse drawn carriages and walking along a famous Boston street ca late 1800's in a wind driven snow storm. Image 14 1/2 inches x 20 1/2 inches, 5 1/2 inch wide gilt frame. Overll 24 3/4 inches x 31 1/4 inches. Label on back Lincoln House Loan Exhibition of Pictures March 23, 1890?

MAQBOOL FIDA HUSAIN "RAGING HORSE" OIL ON CANVAS: Oil on canvas. Striking image of a rearing horse in black, white and shades of gray. Image 46 inches x 23 inches. Signed in Hindi lower left. Maqbool Fida Husain (India 1913-2011) was a very well known and important artist from India. He is celebrated as one of India's prominent moderists. PROVENANCE: Painting bought directly from the artist by a well known collector from Fort Myeres Florida in 2009. Transaction confirmed by the artist's family in 2017.  Boston estate collection. Painting will be accompanied by the original Certificate from the artist's family dated 4/20/2017, confirming the transaction between the artis and the colloector in 2009.

CASED SHIP MODEL of CHARLES W. MORGAN: 20th C cased ship model. Charles W. Morgan whaling ship. Approximately 27 inches long x 27 inches tall. Case 36 inches x 30 inches tall x 13 inches wide. Model built 1n 1980s. Good condition.

AKBAR PADAMSEE MODERN PAINTING: Akbar Padamsee  (India 1928-2020).Water color on paper. Image 15 inches x 10 3/5 inches.  Padamsee is considered as one of the pioneers of Indian modern art. He was a student of famous J.J. School of Art in Mumbai. During that time 1947. Progressive art group was formed by M.F. Husain. By the time he finished his diploma he was already associated with the group. His paintings are in major collections worldwide and sold by the most reknown auctioneers worldwide. Published: Marta kimowicz ed, Akbar Padamsee: "Works on Paper-Critical Boundaries", Mumbai: Pundole Art Gallery, 2004 pp. 100, 212 (Illustrated). Signed and dated Padamsee 97 upper-left 1997. PROVENANCE:  Originally purchased by a Canadian gentleman from well known auctioneer, New York. Now estate collection Boston.
